Event Focus: Peri-Urban & Rural Commercial Greenhouses, Agro-Input Retail Centers, and Commercial Nurseries in South Korea (উপ-শহর ও গ্রাম এলাকায় আধুনিক গ্রিনহাউজ, সুপার শপে কৃষি উপকরণ বিক্রয় এবং সাধারণ নার্সারী পরিদর্শণ)

To understand how South Korea achieves world-leading horticultural yields across both smallholder farms and urban households, I documented the entire physical supply chain—from peri-urban and rural greenhouse clusters to supermarket agro-input aisles, specialized urban input stores, and commercial nurseries.

Supply-Chain Lessons for Developing Agricultural Economies

  • Standardization of Inputs: Every substrate bag, fertilizer blend, and irrigation fitting in South Korea carries clear, standardized specifications—empowering both commercial farmers and urban rooftop gardeners.
  • Accessible Retail Distribution: Placing certified seeds, organic substrates, and micro-irrigation kits inside mainstream supermarkets and neighborhood agro-centers dramatically accelerates urban farming adoption.
  • Professional Seedling Nurseries: Farmers rarely germinate high-value greenhouse crops themselves; instead, specialized nurseries supply uniform, grafted, disease-free plug seedlings ready for transplanting.
